Tonight on Ears Have Ears we are featuring an experimental soundtrack from The Caretaker for Grant Gree’s newly released documentary ‘Patience (After Sebald)’. The documentary is about the life of German writer G.B Sebald. 

The Caretaker is the moniker for British electronic musician Leyland Kirby who started the project after being inspired by the haunted ballroom scene in Stanley Kubrick’s The Shining. The Caretaker releases most of his works through V/Vm Test Records.

This Sunday night on Ears Have Ears we will be joined by psychedelic musician Alex Cowie aka Angel Eyes from Melbourne. He’s currently in Sydney having played a couple of shows - for new blog Ad Hoc (from the editors of Altered Zones) last night with Deep Magic and today at the Hollywood Hotel with Raw Prawn for Sunset People (Popfrenzy & Radiant presents).  Angel Eyes has released music on Not Not Fun and contributed to the our recently featured Siberia Records/New Planes Public Press release Higher Planes. Alex will be performing for us live in the studio plus chatting to us about his fourthcoming release Vice to Vice on Minneapolis, Minnesota USA label Moon Glyph and other upcoming projects. Tune in for this and more experimental music from 9pm with Brooke Olsen on Ears Have Ears.          

     

This Sunday night on Ears Have Ears we will be treated to a special live in studio performance from Sydney’s experimental pedal maker Oscillateur aka Christian Moraga. 

Oscillateur is also the brainchild behind cubiseffects, which repairs, mods and creates custom guitar effect pedals.  

We were lucky enough to catch Oscillateur play last weekend at Octopus Pi’s Wormwoodstock Festival, and since then he has decided to perform an exclusive 15 minute live soundtrack for us in the studio.

This Sunday night we are joined by Sydney’s post rock group sleepmakeswaves, who managed to find the time before jetting off to South by South West to create a stunning 15 minute original soundtrack piece called Aperture exclusivly for Ears Have Ears. They will be joining guest host Tim Sharp live in the studio to chat about the soundtrack and their upcoming plans for the new year.
